Journal ArticleDOI

Novel solvent properties of choline chloride/urea mixtures

TL;DR: Eutectic mixtures of urea and a range of quaternary ammonium salts are liquid at ambient temperatures and have interesting solvent properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deep Eutectic Solvents Formed between Choline Chloride and Carboxylic Acids: Versatile Alternatives to Ionic Liquids

TL;DR: It is shown that the conductivity and viscosity of these liquids is controlled by ion mobility and the availability of voids of suitable dimensions, and this is consistent with the fluidity of other ionic liquids and molten salts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of novel, moisture-stable, Lewis-acidic ionic liquids containing quaternary ammonium salts with functional side chains

TL;DR: A range of novel, moisture-stable, Lewis-acidic ionic liquids has been prepared by mixing appropriate molar ratios of MCl2 and quaternary ammonium salts and the influence of substituent Y and metal M on the physical properties of the melts has been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Computational study of the mechanism of cyclometalation by palladium acetate.

TL;DR: The rate-limiting step is the electrophilic attack of the palladium on an ortho arene C-H bond to form an agostic complex rather than a Wheland intermediate, and the cyclometalated product is formed by intramolecular deprotonation by acetate via a six-membered transition state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solubility of Metal Oxides in Deep Eutectic Solvents Based on Choline Chloride

TL;DR: In this article, the solubility of 17 commonly available metal oxides in the elemental mass series Ti through Zn have been determined in three ionic liquids based on choline chloride.
