Real-time colour pictorial radiation monitoring during coronary angiography: effect on patient peak skin and total dose during coronary angiography.
Sharon Wilson,Ananth M. Prasan,Amy Virdi,Marissa Lassere,Glenn Ison,David R. Ramsay,James C. Weaver +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a real-time colour pictorial radiation dose monitoring system was used to reduce patient skin and total radiation dose during coronary angiography and intervention, which was associated with a significant reduction in the number of patients placed at risk of skin damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Subadventitial stenting around occluded stents: A bailout technique to recanalize in-stent chronic total occlusions
Lorenzo Azzalini,Aris Karatasakis,James C. Spratt,Peter Tajti,Robert F. Riley,Luiz F. Ybarra,Stefan P. Schumacher,Susanna Benincasa,Barbara Bellini,Luciano Candilio,Satoru Mitomo,Peter Henriksen,Francisco Hidalgo,Leo Timmers,Adriaan O. Kraaijeveld,Pierfrancesco Agostoni,James Roy,David R. Ramsay,James C. Weaver,Paul Knaapen,Alexander Nap,Boris Starčević,Soledad Ojeda,Manuel Pan,Khaldoon Alaswad,William Lombardi,Mauro Carlino,Emmanouil S. Brilakis,Antonio Colombo,Stéphane Rinfret,Kambis Mashayekhi +30 more
TL;DR: The objective was to evaluate the outcomes of subadventitial stenting around occluded stents for recanalizing in‐stent chronic total occlusions (IS‐CTOs) and to investigate the role of EMT in these events.
Journal ArticleDOI
Selective anti-scatter grid removal during coronary angiography and PCI: a simple and safe technique for radiation reduction
James Roy,Philip Sun,Glenn Ison,Ananth M. Prasan,Thomas J. Ford,Andrew P. Hopkins,Andrew P. Hopkins,David R. Ramsay,James C. Weaver,James C. Weaver +9 more
TL;DR: Removing the anti-scatter grid (ASG) is a simple and effective method to significantly reduce radiation dose in coronary angiography and PCI while maintaining adequate diagnostic image quality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intravenous enoxaparin versus unfractionated heparin in unselected patients undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions: the Zurich enoxaparin versus unfractionated heparin in PCI study (ZEUS)
Osmund Bertel,David R. Ramsay,Tobias Wettstein,David J. Kurz,Irene Stettler,Edwin Straumann,Juergen Frielingsdorf,Dominik Maurer,Barbara Naegeli +8 more
TL;DR: No definite conclusion could be made concerning efficacy and safety of intravenous enoxaparin as an alternative to UFH in unselected patients undergoing PCI in this open-label study that was prematurely stopped due to slow recruitment.
Journal Article
Perimyocarditis and myocardial infarction: A rare manifestation of Churg-Strauss syndrome.
TL;DR: A 58-year-old man without cardiovascular risk factors who was admitted to hospital with acute coronary syndrome with Churg-Strauss syndrome was diagnosed based on the patient's history of asthma, sinusitis, eosinophilia, nasal polyps, transient radiological pulmonary infiltrations and transient paresthesia over the left tibia.
