Journal ArticleDOI

Global strain rate imaging for the estimation of diastolic function in HFNEF compared with pressure-volume loop analysis

TL;DR: Strain rate imaging is accurate in detecting increased LV stiffness in HFNEF, but it is not superior to already established TDI analysis including E/E' in patients with only mild degree of disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diastolic pressure–volume quotient (DPVQ) as a novel echocardiographic index for estimation of LV stiffness in HFpEF

TL;DR: 3D echocardiography allows accurate non-invasive measurements of diastolic pressure–volume quotient which correlates with invasive determined LV stiffness in HFpEF.
Journal ArticleDOI

The utility of speckle tracking imaging in the diagnostic of acute myocarditis, as proven by endomyocardial biopsy.

TL;DR: proven by endomyocardial biopsy Mario Kasner, David Sinning, Felicitas Escher, Dirk Lassner, Uwe Kühl, Heinz-Peter Schultheiss, Carsten Tschöpe.
Journal ArticleDOI

Increased left ventricular stiffness impairs exercise capacity in patients with heart failure symptoms despite normal left ventricular ejection fraction.

TL;DR: Investigation of the influence of LV stiffness, determined by pressure-volume loop analysis obtained by conductance catheterization, on exercise capacity in HFNEF found CPET parameters such as peak oxygen uptake, peakoxy uptake at ventilatory threshold, and ventilation equivalent for carbon dioxide production at ventILatory threshold correlate with LV stiffness.
