Identification et caractérisation des précurseurs biologiques des carraghénanes par spectroscopie de r.m.n.-13C

TL;DR: Carrageenans from the following red algae have been fractionated in order to obtain enriched fractions of carrageenan precursor(s) (μ- and ν-carragesenans), and spectroscopy is shown to be a good method of characterizing these structures, giving more accurate results than i.m.r.s.spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

The quantitative analysis of uronic acid polymers by infrared spectroscopy.

TL;DR: The ester, amide, and uronate contents of pectins and the uronates content of alginates were determined from the ester-carbonyl stretching band, the amide I band, and the carboxylate antisymmetric stretching band obtained from the spectra of solutions in D2O-phosphate buffer.
Journal ArticleDOI

The 13C‐NMR Spectra of Hyaluronate and Chondroitin Sulphates

TL;DR: The spectra for hyaluronate show line narrowing and chemical shift changes from neutral to alkaline solution which are consistent with, and clearer than, the effects reported earlier for the proton spectra, and suggest that an additional potential energy minimum is made favourable in alkali so that the overall amplitudes of the bond oscillations are increased.
