Jasna Trbojević-Stanković,Biljana Stojimirovic,Zoran Bukumiric,Edvin Hadzibulic,Branislav Andrić,Verica Djordjevic,Zoran Marjanović,Fatmir Birdjozlic,Dejan Nesic,Dijana Jovanovic +9 more
TL;DR: Depression and poor sleep quality are frequent and interrelated among HD patients and a statistically significant positive correlation was found between BDI and PSQI.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of elevated blood pressure on exercise capacity in elite athletes.
Sanja Mazic,Jelena Suzic Lazic,Milica Dekleva,Milena Antic,Ivan Soldatovic,Marina Djelic,Dejan Nesic,Tijana Aćimović,Milivoje Lazic,Biljana Lazovic,Slavica Suzic +10 more
TL;DR: Even in the absence of structural or functional heart damage, elevated BP in elite athletes, together with the presence of autonomic dysfunction, leads to decrease in exercise capacity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunomodulatory actions of central ghrelin in diet-induced energy imbalance.
Darko Stevanovic,Vesna Starcevic,Urosh Vilimanovich,Dejan Nesic,Ljubica Vucicevic,Maja Misirkic,Kristina Janjetovic,Emina Savic,Dusan Popadic,Emina Sudar,Dragan Micic,Mirjana Sumarac-Dumanovic,Vladimir Trajkovic +12 more
TL;DR: Central ghrelin may play a complex role in energy imbalance-induced inflammation by modulating HPA axis, leptin and AMPK/ERK signaling pathways by activating the energy sensor AMP-activated protein kinase in the hypothalamus and inhibited extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) in the hearts of obese, but not starved rats.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heart rate recovery in elite athletes: the impact of age and exercise capacity
Jelena Suzic Lazic,Milica Dekleva,Ivan Soldatovic,Roman Leischik,Slavica Suzic,Dragan Radovanovic,Biljana Djuric,Dejan Nesic,Milivoje Lazic,Sanja Mazic +9 more
TL;DR: The HRR during 3 min postexercise should be reported for the purpose of better assessing functional adaptation to exercise among elite athletes as well as the age‐associated differences in recovery.
Journal ArticleDOI
