Reliable and secured communication between two or more devices require wired connection. A wireless communication such as — Bluetooth, WI-Fi, ZigBee etc. provides flexible and inexpensive solution for remote applications. A large number of low cost hardware platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, mbed boards etc. are available that do not provide any inbuilt wireless module but are equipped with UART, I2C ports for design and development of Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded applications. Designers face the difficulty to use such a low cost hardware for wireless communication in order to implement these applications. In this paper, Design & Development of Daughter Board for Raspberry Pi to support Bluetooth Communication using UART is proposed as an integrated solution. Results of various QoS parameters such as transmission rate, file format(text, pdf, image & audio), baud ratesand range for Bluetooth communication between two devices are presented. The result shows that Bluetooth module is capable of transmitting files of same size in different format approximately in same time. Proposed solution can further be extended to different protocols such as Wi-Fi and ZigBee etc.

Design & development of daughter board for Raspberry Pi to support Bluetooth communication using UART

This paper introduces a novel electronic system for simplex low-bitrate infra-red (IR) communication applications. The transmitter is implemented completely by analog building blocks, formed with the help of a recently fabricated chip that includes active elements allowing various modular interconnections. For the design of this chip, the ON Semiconductor C035 0.35μm I3T25 technology was chosen due to the trade-off between cost, efficiency and obtainable parameters. The designed transmitter operates as a voltageto-duty cycle converter, using pulse width modulation that causes ON/OFF keying of the carrier signal for infra-red (IR) diode. The duty cycle variable between 7% and 83% is modulated by the input voltage (in the range of ±0.8 V) of the transmitter. The use case of the proposed concept in the measurement of illuminance within the range of 30 lx and 550 lx is also presented. The quality of the transmission was evaluated as the error between the transmitted and received values of the duty cycle (kept mostly below 10 %). The maximal power consumption of the transmitter reaches 180 mW.

Illuminance Sensing in Agriculture Applications Based on Infra-Red Short-Range Compact Transmitter Using 0.35 $\mu{\text{m}}$ CMOS Active Device

– In this study, it has been planned to communicate directly on mobile without connecting a server in a public or wide area with a radio between two computers and then, some software has been designed. For this, in Visual Studio 2010 C# platform, it has been produced two different software which work simultaneously in transmitter / receiver computers. Text data typed in transmitting computer for communication has been transformed into audio signal via the Ses_Uret software which has been improved for this study, then these data transformed into audio signals have been transferred to another electronic environment through the radio. In this communication period, the loudspeaker and microphone of the transmitting / receiving computers have been used as a detector and convertor. Audio signals which have reached to receiving computer have transformed into the meaningful text via the Ses_Yakala software and mobile communication took place. Bringing this software into use in a fixed or mobile position would be beneficial in some urgent situations when the communication system doesn’t work and the radios work.

Development of A New Software to Transmit The Audio Signals Without Server-Based

Network is called as a good network if the packet/data delivery is on time or delay rate is as much as it can be tolerated but if the delay rate is high then the network resources are being affected. The demand for a good network nowadays has increased which is making the need for proper communication mechanism a great pressure. The challenge is to choose a network that will not only satisfy the customer need but also channel reliability and data security. Depending upon some features like bandwidth and services, the wired and wireless communication does the same work but if we talk about the wired communication it will show us some other factors and talking about wireless communication leads us to think about the security. This paper focused on some key elements which can be useful to choose a proper network for communication in the aspect of security, communication medium, real-time application, etc.

Next-Generation Communication Networks: Wired or Wireless—A Big Question!

Infrared (IR) technology is widely adopted and dominantly used for wireless communication. Relatively low distance communication system can be furnished by using IR communication as it is cheaper than widely used Bluetooth and Wi-Fi communication. A protocol has been researched to transfer data between computers by using IR technology and an apparatus also has been developed according to the protocol. MATLAB is used to manipulate data in a computer and transfers the data via serial port to the microcontroller of the apparatus. Mathematical and logical operations are performed in the controller according to programmed instructions in order to send the data as a signal of IR light beam which modulates at a frequency of 38 kHz. An IR receiver picks up the signal and the receiving module converts the modulated light beam to corresponding electric signal which is decoded & defragmented by an another microcontroller to generate corresponding data. Then the accrued data is sent to another computer through serial port where it is received by MATLAB. This apparatus works perfectly within 8 meters with viewing angle between 15 to 30 degrees.
