Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of ozone exposure on lung functions and plasma prostaglandin and thromboxane concentrations in guinea pigs

TL;DR: The nature of this long-term pulmonary response to a short-term exposure to O3 suggestsAlveolar involvement, including probable alveolar duct constriction and localized pulmonary edema is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Functional changes in the lungs of guinea pigs exposed to sodium sulfite aerosols.

TL;DR: Lung volume, diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO), and wet lung weight were evaluated in anesthetized, tracheotomized animals and decreased with increasing concentrations of sodium sulfite.
Journal ArticleDOI

Indomethacin and cromolyn sodium alter ozone-induced changes in lung function and plasma eicosanoid concentrations in guinea pigs.

TL;DR: The findings suggest that both drugs block some effects of O3 exposure on the lungs and on plasma EC concentrations, but the degree to which EC contribute to O3-induced pulmonary effects is not clearly apparent.
