Using the gravity equation to differentiate among alternative theories of trade: another look
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared two alternative approaches, the traditional OLS and the Poisson Quasi Maximum Likelihood (PQML) procedures, to estimate the home market effects for the heterogeneous, the reference priced and the homogeneous goods in the gravity model derived in Feenstra et al.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimating gravity equations: to log or not to log?
TL;DR: In this article, the traditional OLS approach applied to the log-linear form of the gravity model with the Poisson Quasi Maximum Likelihood (PQML) estimation procedure was compared to the non-linear multiplicative specification.

Surface Scattering Experiments With Conduction Electrons
TL;DR: The electrical conductivity of thin metal films has been studied in this paper, where the authors describe the surface influence of the thin metal film on glass supports and studies of surface and growth processes.

Terrorism and trade
Volker Nitsch,Dieter Schumacher +1 more
TL;DR: This article examined the effect of terrorism and warfare on international trade and found that terrorist actions reduce the volume of trade; a doubling in the number of terrorist incidents is associated with a decrease in bilateral trade by about 6 percent.
