TL;DR: Pratorinine is a new phenanthridone alkaloid and anhydrolycorin-7-one was known before only as a synthetic compound and the physiological significance of hippadine is appraised.
Journal ArticleDOI
New furofurano lignans from Justicia simplex
TL;DR: In this paper, a new 3,7-dioxabicyclo[3,3,O] octane lignan, named justisolin, and a new O-glucoside, named simplexoside were isolated from the whole plant of Justicia simplex D Don (Acanthaceae), collected at fruiting.

Xanthone and flavonol constituents of Swertia hookeri
TL;DR: The whole plant of Swertia hookeri has been shown to contain two tri- and nine tetraoxygenated free, glucosyloxy, and stearyl ester xanthones and one flavonol stearylene ester, among which three were previously unreported in nature and one was known previously only as a synthetic compound.
Journal ArticleDOI
New glycoxanthones and flavanone glycosides of Hoppea dichotoma
TL;DR: The whole plant of Hoppea dichotoma has been shown to contain eleven xanthones, two flavanones and two flavones, as major chemical entities, five of which are new naturally occurring compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dichotosin and dichotosinin, two adaptogenic glucosyloxy flavans from Hoppea dichotoma☆
TL;DR: The glucosyloxyflavans, individually and in combination, produced varying degrees of adaptogenic (anti-stress-anti-anxiety) activity in animal models, consistent with the use of the plant extract as a nerve tonic in Ayurvedic medicine.
