A design and application of a multi-agent system for simulation of multi-actor spatial planning.

TL;DR: The potential and limitations of the MAS are discussed to build models that enable spatial planners to include the 'actor factor' in their analysis and design of spatial scenarios.

Individual-based models in the analysis of disease transmission in plant production chains: An application to potato brown rot

TL;DR: The study shows that individual-based modelling (IBM) provides a powerful platform for modelling the epidemiology and impact of diseases in plant production chains and can be effectively used for the analysis, evaluation and design of cost-effective disease management policies.

Evaluating the cost-effectiveness of brown-rot control strategies : development of a bio-economic model of brown-rot prevalence in the Dutch potato production chain

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a bioeconomic model to evaluate control strategies in terms of their cost-effectiveness, specified for brown rot in the Dutch potato production chain, for two brown-rot policy scenarios, which differ in sampling frequency of harvested potato lots but are otherwise similar.
