Flight testing of a rate saturation compensation scheme on the ATTAS aircraft

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the application of a rate saturation compensation scheme to the DLR Advanced Technologies Testing Aircraft (ATTAS) and the results of the subsequent flight tests, which demonstrated the definite potential for well designed AW compensators to improve the safety and handling qualities of aircraft during rate saturation, with some flight conditions exhibiting dramatic improvements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fault-Tolerant Model Predictive Control with Flight-Test Results

TL;DR: In this paper, a constrained guidance system that works in conjunction with the inner-loop fault-tolerant controller is proposed to smooth the transition between two consecutive navigation legs defined by waypoints.

Fault-Tolerant Flight Control System using Model Predictive Control

TL;DR: A trajectory tracking system based on the proposed fault-tolerant model predictive controller is demonstrated using the ground simulator of the VFW-614 ATTAS (Advanced Technologies Testing Aircraft System), showing feasibility and adequate performance.
