The detection method of the checkboard grid image angular point sub pixel comprises the steps that 1, a checkboard grid calibration template is filmed trough a camera, a template image of the checkboard grid calibration template is obtained, and binaryzation is conducted on the template image to obtain a binaryzation image; 2, traversal is conducted on the binaryzation image through a circular template, and screening is conducted on all the tested pixel points of the binaryzation image to screen out candidate angular points; 3, according to the character of the candidate angular points that the candidate angular points are symmetrically arranged near a true angular point which is determined by an angular point set, the abscissa average value and the ordinate average value of the pixel positions of the candidate angular points are calculated, and the abscissa average value and the ordinate average value serve as the sub pixel coordinates of the true angular point. According to the detection method of the checkboard grid image angular point sub pixel, only simple arithmetic is needed, and operations of differential, interpolation, surface fitting and the like are not needed, so that the detection process is simple and easy to realize, sub pixel level precision can be directly obtained, and good detection precision and real-time are obtained.

In this paper, the authors propose a method for thresholding a gray-scaled image. In the method, a threshold for a coordinate is set by an iteration that is composed of the pixels detection from neighboring area and a calculation of a candidate threshold using the detected pixels. The candidate threshold settles down to a value, because the detected pixels finally become invariable. Therefore, the method can set the threshold which follows up a light changing and a contrast changing. The proposed method and the conventional methods were tested, using a preceding car images. We compared the method with other methods by an estimation based on a correlation on the thresholding. It was confirmed that the proposed method had more effectiveness than the conventional methods in case of brightnes change, contrast fall and image size change.

The integrated image generation unit generates an integrated image including the areas in all the directions around the heavy equipment by using the plurality of the images. The guideline generation unit generates a guideline indicating a position separated by a predetermined distance from the heavy equipment. The image output unit illustrates the guideline on the integrated image and outputs the integrated image.

This paper proposes the corner point detection algorithm which uses extreme value from Gray Level image. There are various methods to detect corner point. Corner point includes information about the length and shape of model. Preprocessing step is required to detect corner point. First, the model image is converted to gray-level image. After removing noise from converted image, edge lines are detected by edge detection algorithm. Existing SUSAN algorithm detects edge line by using area, but also detects wrong corner points. But proposed extreme value method only detects corner point which belongs to the defined area, so detection ratio can be increased. Proposed method can be used to detect model's exact displacement or to perform 3-D reconstruction.

The integration image generator generates the integration image by using a plurality of images. The integration image includes the domain of heavy equipment surrounding all directions. The guide-line generating unit generates a guide-line for indicating the location apart from the heavy equipment as a fixed distance. The image output unit indicates guide-line in the integration image and outputs.

System and method for monitoring safe operation of heavy machinery

Recently, a development of the medical instrument using the vision information is brisk. Especially, extracting the 3-dimension information from 2-dimension image is the one of the major research topics. This paper proposes the method to measure tumor size by the 3-dimension information extraction, the triangulation using the extracted 3-dimension information and the camera geometry. To extract the 3-dimension information, the Hough circle transform and triangulation are used. The Hough circle transform is used to extract a feature point from tumor models for the 3-dimension information recovery. An extracted feature point is used for recovering the depth information from the 2-dimension tumor stereo images. A tumor size measurement is done by triangulation using the depth information and camera internal parameters. Matlab and Visual C++ are used for simulation.
