Journal ArticleDOI

Differential Molecular Signature of Human Saliva Using ATR-FTIR Spectroscopy for Chronic Kidney Disease Diagnosis.

TL;DR: Comparisons between CKD patients and matched control subjects using attenuated total reflection-Fourier Transform Infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy indicate that salivary vibrational modes by ATR- FTIR platform should be further explored as an auxiliary diagnostic tool for CKD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Metformin attenuates the TLR4 inflammatory pathway in skeletal muscle of diabetic rats

TL;DR: The results indicate a relationship between muscular TLR4, p-AMPK and NF-κB content and insulin sensitivity and highlights that in situations of insulin resistance, such as in diabetic subjects, metformin treatment may prevent attenuation of activation of the inflammatory pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI

Salivary and Plasmatic Antioxidant Profile following Continuous, Resistance, and High-Intensity Interval Exercise: Preliminary Study

TL;DR: It is suggested that HIIE may lead to alterations in antioxidants and consequently to the physiological processes related to redox, similar to the CE, with the advantage of being performed in a shorter time.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adaptogenic potential of royal jelly in liver of rats exposed to chronic stress.

TL;DR: RJ supplementation reestablished the corticosterone levels and the hepatic antioxidant system in stressed rats, indicating an adaptogenic and hepatoprotective potential of RJ.
Journal ArticleDOI

One-Year Update on Salivary Diagnostic of COVID-19.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discussed the advantages and limitations in the implementation of salivary diagnostic platforms of COVID-19 and discussed the benefits and drawbacks of using such platforms for large scale testing.
