Journal ArticleDOI
Cost and Effectiveness of Laser with Phlebectomies Compared with Foam Sclerotherapy in Superficial Venous Insufficiency. Early Results of a Randomised Controlled Trial
TL;DR: UGFS significantly outperformed EVLA in cost, treatment duration, pain, analgesia requirements and recovery and is 3.15 times less expensive than EVLA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term results of a randomized controlled trial on ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy combined with saphenofemoral ligation vs standard surgery for varicose veins.
E Kalodiki,Christopher R. Lattimer,M. Azzam,Emad Shawish,Dimitris Bountouroglou,George Geroulakos +5 more
TL;DR: At 3 and 5 years of follow-up, the treatment was equally effective in the surgical and foam groups, as demonstrated with VCSS, VSDS, and the SF-36 physical component score.
Journal Article
Superficial vein thrombosis: a consensus statement.

Journal ArticleDOI
Venous filling time using air-plethysmography correlates highly with great saphenous vein reflux time using duplex
TL;DR: There was an excellent correlation between the VFT90 versus duplex RT, thereby comparing reverse flow in a single superficial vein against the legs overall venous haemodynamic status and these tests can both be used in the quantification of reflux.
Journal ArticleDOI
Responsiveness of individual questions from the venous clinical severity score and the Aberdeen varicose vein questionnaire
TL;DR: The majority of the individual questions of the venous clinical severity score and the Aberdeen varicose vein questionnaire responded to change, however, the cause of a poor response was multifactorial with statistical dilution playing a significant role.
