Today's world business depends on outsourcing the computing and storage. Lack of Security on Data Outsourcing is an important issue and becomes one of the wider areas in the Information science research field. The major challenges of outsourcing the data over un-trusted parties are providing confidentiality, maintaining integrity, Access control of multi- owners data, and user revocation of shared data. This paper addresses the analysis of security over data outsourcing on different concerns like Attribute based encryption (ABE), Key management, Anonymous authentication, User revocation and Access control. ABE is one type of a public key cryptosystem which has its more attraction for encrypting data, user revocation issues and access control particularly in case of data outsourcing. Securing and Managing the keys is as important as securing the data. Anonymous authentication is essential for the special cases where the user may wish to store sensitive data without revealing their identity. This paper surveyed all the different types of techniques used to enhance the security of outsourced data.

A survey on security over data outsourcing

In a number of modern automated systems, the interaction between their individual components occurs in data blocks of several tens of bytes and even of several bytes long. This happens due to the requirements for the duration of the frame transmission in time sharing systems for the duration of the frame processing, the requirements for the power consumption of transmitters, etc. In such systems, it is not possible to provide reliable identification and authentication of the stoker using traditional block cipher algorithms. Cipher Block Chaining provides higher confidence in authentication procedures. At the same time, the practical implementation generally requires performing a large number of typical operations on the received data blocks. The article describes the possible way of using Cipher Block Chaining. It also considers a mathematical model for assessing its computational complexity of the data processing algorithm and provides the recommended ranges of operating parameters of automated systems for using the algorithm.

The Computational Complexity of the Algorithm for Identifying the Source of Data Transmitted by Limited Length Blocks

Cloud computing provides IT services like computation, storage, networking, and software to the users. Cloud storage services allows users to access the data anywhere and at anytime, under the supervision of cloud service provider CSP. Protecting the data against data breaches in the cloud is still a challenging issue for CSP. Public key cryptographic techniques are widely used to ensure authenticity, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. Schmidt-Samoa cryptosystem SSC is a public key cryptosystem, which depends on the resistance of integer factorisation. While implementing SSC in the cloud, the cryptosystem consumes more time for performing encryption and decryption. In this paper, we propose an enhanced Schmidt-Samoa ESS public key cryptosystem to address this problem. The ESS cryptosystem composes with four prime numbers, which increase the complexity to break the cryptosystem compared to SSC. The experimental results with variable file size and key size also proved that the time required to perform the data encryption and decryption in ESS is lower and the time required to perform cryptanalysis in ESS is higher compared with SSC. Thus, the ESS cryptosystem is highly secured, and improves data confidentiality.

Enhanced Schmidt-Samoa cryptosystem for data confidentiality in cloud computing

Signal is a popular cryptographic protocol designed by the Open Whisper System that delivers end-to-end encryption for instant messaging (IM) conversations. Furthermore, Signal is considered the core security protocol for numerous applications such as Facebook Messenger and the Google Allo application. The increased use of the signal protocol in different IM applications has made it imperative, which also makes it highly attractive for the intruders. Therefore, security analysis for the signal protocol is deemed necessary to ensure its capability in the security domain. This paper conducts a formal analysis of the security protocol using Scyther, which is a model checking tool that has been used in analysis of different protocols. In this work, the signal protocol is analyzed in three phases: registration phase, sending and receiving message phase, and sending a reply phase. The obtained results are addressed and compared with those from mathematical and other model checking approaches.

Formal Analysis of the Signal Protocol Using the Scyther Tool

The use of chained block cifer mode makes it possible to increase the reliability of making decisions about the integrity and authenticity of messages in the conditions of a limited size of the message authentication code. Such solutions require independent implementation of procedures for decoding incoming data packets to authenticate multiple remote sources. It is proposed to use indirect addressing in order to increase the processing speed of incoming packets and to reduce the amount of internal buffer memory. The initial packet data is stored in a common large-capacity buffer, and the decoding results, descriptors of the generated message chains are stored in a separate memory of a smaller capacity. In this case, decoding for each source takes place on a separate computing core. Mathematical modeling has shown that the proposed computer configuration provides a performance increase of up to 0.9 message authentication code extraction operations with a reasonable number of computing modules of 7–10. The operation of the independent computing modules in a quasi-multitasking mode ensures the processing of messages from 10 remote sources without significant loss in performance of the authentication receiver

To improve the network security by a cryptographic primitive called proxy re-encryption in which a proxy can transform a ciphertext encrypted under one key without seeing the actual plaintext into an encryption of the same plaintext under another key This cryptographic concept has recently drawn renewed interest Some researchers also showed how to properly define chosen-ciphertext security for the primitive This system supports bidirectional as the translation key allows converting ciphertexts in both directions The proposed concept presents the unidirectional proxy re-encryption schemes with chosen-ciphertext security without using the random oracle idealization In 2008, Libert and Vergnaud presented the first construction of unidirectional proxy re-encryption scheme with chosen-ciphertext security in the standard model The limitation of their scheme is the longer length of original ciphertext and re-encrypted ciphertext In this paper, an improvement is performed in Libert and Vergnaud scheme by improving the security levels of encryption using ASCII values The proposed work additionally outlines Non-Transitive Unidirectional Proxy Re-Encryption (PRE) schemes This paper justifies the strength of this PRE with experimental results
