Journal ArticleDOI

Absorption spectrum of the NO molecule. IX. The structure of the f complexes, the ionization potential of NO, and the quadrupole moment of NO+

TL;DR: In this article, the 0-0 bands at 1474 A and 1422 A of the first two members of the nf-X2Π Rydberg series of NO have been observed under high resolution in the absorption spectrum of cold nitric oxide gas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Absorption spectrum of the NO molecule. VIII. The heterogeneous (2Σ–2Π) interactions between excited states

TL;DR: Heterogeneous perturbations 2E+ ǫ 2 ε 2 Π of largely different magnitudes were observed with high resolution in the vacuum-ultraviolet absorption and in the infrared emission spectrum of the NO molecule.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two‐photon spectroscopy of Rydberg states of NO

TL;DR: Two-photon spectroscopy of supersonically cooled NO in the region between the NO+ X 1Σ+, v+=0 and 1 ionization thresholds reveals the n=7−12 members of the ndπ−, v=1 Rydberg series.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of the 5g-4f Rydberg-Rydberg transition of the NO molecule

TL;DR: In this paper, the 4 mu m band radiation from high temperature air investigated by Wray and Taylor in 1969 is interpreted as 5g-4f emission of the NO molecule and position, fine-structure and intensity of the band are in excellent agreement with previous knowledge on the 4f complex of NO.
