Journal ArticleDOI
Aflatoxin B(1) in affecting broiler's performance, immunity, and gastrointestinal tract: a review of history and contemporary issues.
TL;DR: The metabolism of aflatoxin B1 and recently proposed hypotheses regarding biphasic effects of the mycotoxin in broilers are briefly discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Addition of a Probiotic Microorganism to Broiler Diets Contaminated with Deoxynivalenol on Performance and Histological Alterations of Intestinal Villi of Broiler Chickens
TL;DR: D diets with DON contamination below levels that induce a negative impact on health and performance could affect small intestinal morphology in broilers and the histological alterations caused by DON were reduced by supplementing the DON-containing diets with PB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Different Cooking Procedures on Lipid Quality and Cholesterol Oxidation of Farmed Salmon Fish (Salmo salar)
Sabri Al-Saghir,Karin Thurner,Karl-Heinz Wagner,Georg Frisch,W. Luf,Ebrahim Razzazi-Fazeli,Ibrahim Elmadfa +6 more
TL;DR: Moderate pan-frying and steaming of salmon did not accelerate lipid oxidation but significantly increased the content of cholesterol oxidation products, and the highest increase of COPs was found through steaming, mainly due to the longer heat exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Review of Recent Trends in Applications of Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry for Determination of Mycotoxins
TL;DR: The application of hyphenated techniques especially HPLC-MS and HPLCMS-MS has, in many cases, revolutionized the analysis of mycotoxins as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Species-specific identification and differentiation of Arcobacter, Helicobacter and Campylobacter by full-spectral matrix-associated laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry analysis
Merima Alispahic,Karin Hummel,Delfina Jandreski-Cvetkovic,Katharina Nöbauer,Ebrahim Razzazi-Fazeli,Michael Hess,Claudia Hess +6 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that MALDI-TOF MS fingerprinting is a fast and reliable method for the identification of Arcobacter and Helicobacter species, and their distinction from phenotypically similar Campylobacteria species, with applications in clinical diagnostics.
