Age at natural menopause in a population-based screening cohort: the role of menarche, fecundity, and lifestyle factors
TL;DR: No relation was found between age at menarche and age at natural menopause and Frisch's hypothesis could not be corroborated at the individual level, and it is suggested that age at Menarches and Menopause should be treated as independent risk factors for breast cancer.
Journal Article
A mild treatment strategy for in-vitro fertilisation : a randomised non-inferiority trial. Commentary
William J. Ledger,E.M.E.W. Heijnen,Marinus J.C. Eijkemans,Cora de Klerk,Suzanne Polinder,Nicole G. M. Beckers,Ellen R. Klinkert,Frank J.M. Broekmans,Jan Passchier,Egbert R. te Velde,Nick S. Macklon,Bart C.J.M. Fauser +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, mild in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment was used to reduce the risk of term live birth within 1 year compared with standard treatment, and to reduce patients' discomfort, multiple pregnancies, and costs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Women older than 40 years of age and those with elevated follicle-stimulating hormone levels differ in poor response rate and embryo quality in in vitro fertilization
Ilse A.J. van Rooij,Lászió F. J. M. M. Bancsi,Frank J. M. Broekmans,Caspar W.N. Looman,J. Dik F. Habbema,Egbert R. te Velde +5 more
TL;DR: The outcome of IVF differs between patients older than 40 years of age with normal F SH levels and relatively young patients with elevated FSH levels, and this finding may have implications for the management of these patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased risk of early menopausal transition and natural menopause after poor response at first IVF treatment
Evelien J. de Boer,Isolde den Tonkelaar,Egbert R. te Velde,Curt W. Burger,Flora E. van Leeuwen +4 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that a low remaining quantity of oocytes, as reflected by a low number of retrieved oocytes at first IVF treatment, is an important predictor of the risk of an early menopausal transition/natural menopause.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intrauterine insemination of washed husband’s spermatozoa: a controlled study
TL;DR: Intrauterine insemination with washed husband's spermatozoa was performed in 27 couples with clear evidence of impaired sperm mucus interaction due to cervical hostility or immunologic male subfertility and in 30 couples with subnormal semen, but optimal cervical mucus qualities.
