The present disclosure provides a centrifugal blower assembly that includes a centrifugal fan and a scroll casing housing the centrifugal fan. The scroll casing includes a scroll starting position, a scroll ending position and an air passage extending between the scroll starting and ending positions. The scroll ending position is downstream from the scroll starting position relative to airflow through the scroll casing. The centrifugal blower assembly further includes an air outlet extending from the scroll ending position and a plurality of resonators mounted on an exterior surface of the air outlet. Each of the plurality of tuned resonators has respective cavities in fluid communication with inside of the air outlet. Each of the cavities has respective different volumes, heights, widths, and/or lengths from each other.

The present invention relates to a fan structure capable of playing a sound and canceling a noise, and the fan comprises: a vibration plate accommodating space (42) provided in a blade (40); a vibration plate (43) accommodated in the vibration plate accommodating space (42); and an amplitude driving unit (79, 90) for vibrating the vibration plate (43). The vibration plate (43) is provided on a part of the surface of the blade (40) so as to minimize an effect on the strength and surface profile of the blade. The vibration plate (43) is provided at the outer edge of the blade (40), and a magnet (79) for driving the vibration plate (43) is fixed to the vibration plate. In addition, an electromagnet core (90) for vibrating the magnet (79) is disposed, at a fixing end, in a ring shape encompassing the blade (40). The type, amplitude, frequency, and the like of the power supplied to the electromagnet core are controlled such that the vibration plate of the blade vibrates even during rotation of the fan, and thus a sound can be played or a noise can be cancelled.

A fan shroud (10) includes a body portion (18) and a barrel portion (14). The body portion and the barrel portion have a first side (22) and a second side (24). The barrel portion is adjacent to the body portion and defines a cylindrical opening (20) for a fan. The barrel portion and the body portion define a slot (42) in the fan shroud designed to release excess air pressure from the shroud. The slot extends through at least one of the first side and the second side. Any number of slots of different shapes and sizes may be arranged on the fan shroud to reduce noise radiating from the fan shroud.
