Journal ArticleDOI

Vision is protected against blue defocus.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the optical and visual effects of correcting monochromatic aberrations when viewing polychromatic grayscale, green, and blue images, and found that correcting the eye's monochrome abrations improved the optical quality of the focused green images and degraded the optical image quality of defocused blue images.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

In-the-spectacle-lens telescopic device for low vision

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors designed a spectacle-mounted wide field Keplerian telescope built completely inside the spectacle lens, which uses embedded mirrors inside the carrier lens for optical pathway folding and conventional lenses or curved mirrors.
Journal ArticleDOI

New Contrast Metric for Realistic Display Performance Measure.

TL;DR: A new metric for display's contrast performance is proposed based on a modified Weber contrast definition that considers human contrast adaptation and applies for both opaque and see-through displays.
