Journal ArticleDOI

The virulence of entomopathogenic fungi against Bemisia tabaci biotype B (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) and their conidial production using solid substrate fermentation

TL;DR: The results indicate that I. fumosorosea CG1228 has desirable attributes for the development of a mycoinsecticide against whitefly nymphs and adults as well as attained high spore production on insect cadavers and parboiled rice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conidial attachment of metarhizium anisopliae and beauveria bassiana to the larval cuticle of diaprepes abbreviatus (Coleoptera: curculionidae) treated with imidacloprid

TL;DR: Comparative data on the effect of imidacloprid formulation on conidival attachment showed that components of the inert ingredient were responsible for lower conidial attachment on larval cuticle at higher insecticidal doses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Compatibility of conventional agrochemicals used in rice crops with the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae

TL;DR: In this paper, the toxicological impact of chemical pesticides on fungal entomopathogens and their use in tank-mixing can be directly measured through in vitro compatibility tests, and the authors report the in vitro toxicity of eight insecticides, four fungicides and five herbicides in the conidial germination, vegetative growth and conidiation of Metarhizium anisopliae.
Journal ArticleDOI

Production of microsclerotia by Brazilian strains of Metarhizium spp. using submerged liquid culture fermentation

TL;DR: Dried MS–DE preparations of all fungal strains were equally tolerant to desiccation (≥93 % germination) and the highest conidia production was obtained by MS granules of Mc-CG423 (4 × 109 conidia g−1).
Journal ArticleDOI

Golden mosaic of common beans in Brazil: management with a transgenic approach.

TL;DR: The development of a BGMV-Resistant common bean transgenic event and other whitefly-transmitted viruses reported on common beans in Brazil are reported.
