Journal ArticleDOI
Symbolic Dynamics of Heart Rate Variability A Probe to Investigate Cardiac Autonomic Modulation
Stefano Guzzetti,Ester Borroni,Pietro E. Garbelli,Elisa Ceriani,Paolo Della Bella,Nicola Montano,Chiara Cogliati,Virend K. Somers,Alberto Mallani,Alberto Porta +9 more
TL;DR: Symbolic analysis of 3 beat sequences takes into account the different time course of sympathetic and parasympathetic cardiac modulations and seems appropriate for elucidating the neural pathophysiological mechanisms occurring during the short periods that precede acute cardiac events.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lung ultrasonography for the assessment of rapid extravascular water variation: evidence from hemodialysis patients.
Matteo Trezzi,Daniela Torzillo,Elisa Ceriani,Giorgio Costantino,Sabrina Caruso,Parham Tabaee Damavandi,A. Genderini,Marco Cicardi,Nicola Montano,Chiara Cogliati +9 more
TL;DR: Ultrasound performed at the bedside can detect lung water and intravascular overload and their reduction after dialysis in yet asymptomatic patients, adding further evidence regarding the use of lung ultrasound and inferior vena cava measurement in estimating volume overload and monitoring the response to therapy both in hemodialysis and congestive heart failure patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lung ultrasound and short-term prognosis in heart failure patients
Chiara Cogliati,Giovanni Casazza,Elisa Ceriani,Daniela Torzillo,Stefano Furlotti,Ilaria Bossi,Tarcisio Vago,Giorgio Costantino,Nicola Montano +8 more
TL;DR: B-lines at discharge are a prognostic marker for hospital readmission and death at 100days in HF patients, in combination or not with NT-proBNP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lung ultrasound for monitoring cardiogenic pulmonary edema
Francesca Cortellaro,Elisa Ceriani,Monica Spinelli,Carlo Campanella,Ilaria Bossi,Daniele Coen,Giovanni Casazza,Chiara Cogliati +7 more
TL;DR: LUS allows one to assess the clearance of interstitial syndrome and its distribution in the early hours of treatment of CPE, thus representing a possible tool to guide therapy titration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Update on bedside ultrasound diagnosis of pericardial effusion.
Elisa Ceriani,Chiara Cogliati +1 more
TL;DR: Echocardiography may identify cardiac tamponade before it is clinically evident, and can guide pericardiocentesis, even though more advanced operator expertise is required.
