Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence for melatonin synthesis in mouse and human bone marrow cells.

TL;DR: Results presented here suggest that mouse and human bone marrow and bone marrow cells are capable of de novo synthesis of melatonin, which may have intracellular and/or paracrine functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Factor(s) from nonmacrophage bone marrow stromal cells inhibit Lewis lung carcinoma and B16 melanoma growth in mice

TL;DR: It is reported that, when mixed with tumor cells, adherent bone marrow cells inhibit primary tumor growth and metastases formation in mice transplanted with Lewis lung carcinoma or B16 melanoma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Melatonin-induced T-helper cell hematopoietic cytokines resembling both interleukin-4 and dynorphin

TL;DR: It is found that besides anti‐IL4 monoclonal antibody (mAb), the opioid antagonist naltrexone also neutralized the colony stimulating activity and part of the hematopoietic protection exerted by melatonin.
