Journal ArticleDOI

Combustion synthesis of a blue Co-doped zinc aluminate near-infrared reflective pigment

TL;DR: In this article, a near-infrared reflective blue pigment with a low cobalt content, Zn0.9Co0.1Al2O4, was prepared by solution combustion synthesis, which proved to be time effective and energy efficient.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of Colored Organic Pollutants from Wastewaters by Magnetite/Carbon Nanocomposites: Single and Binary Systems

TL;DR: In this article, magnetic nanoparticles embedded within a matrix of activated carbon were tested as adsorbents for removal of industrial dyes from aqueous solutions, and the effects of four independent variables, solution pH, initial concentration of pollutant, adsorbent dose, contact time, and their interactions on the adsorption capacity of the nanocomposite were investigated in order to optimize the process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combustion synthesis of iron oxide/carbon nanocomposites, efficient adsorbents for anionic and cationic dyes removal from wastewaters

TL;DR: In this paper, the adsorption capacity of the magnetite/carbon nanocomposite was investigated for the removal of two anionic (Acid Orange 7 and Acid Blue 129) and two cationic (Methylene Blue and Rhodamine 6G) dyes from simulated wastewaters.
Journal ArticleDOI

One-step synthesis of near-infrared reflective brown pigments based on iron-doped lanthanum aluminate, LaAl1-xFexO3

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the perspective of using an urea and glycine fuel mixture in order to obtain brown, heat reflective iron-doped lanthanum aluminate LaAl1-xFexO3 pigments directly from the combustion reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal behavior of MnFe2O4 and MnFe2O4/C nanocomposite synthesized by a solvothermal method

TL;DR: In this article, a solvothermal method for MnFe2O4 nanoparticles and MnFe 2O4/C nanocomposite synthesis is reported, where the specific surface area of the composite with activated carbon was much higher (253m2−g−1), in comparison with that of the naked ferrite (65m2 −g− 1).
