Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption of phenol and p-chlorophenol from aqueous solutions on poly (styrene-co-divinylbenzene) functionalized materials

TL;DR: In this article, two poly (styrene-co-divinylbenzene) polymers functionalized with amino-phosphinic acid groups (P1) and with carboxylic acid groups(P2) were prepared and their adsorption capacities for phenol and p-chlorophenol (PCP) in aqueous solutions were investigated and compared to that of the commercially available XAD-4 resin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetic and thermodynamic studies on methylene blue biosorption using corn-husk

TL;DR: In this article, a low-cost waste biomass derived from corn plant (husk) was tested as an alternative to other expensive treatment options, for the removal of methylene blue (MB), from aqueous solutions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of Colored Organic Pollutants from Wastewaters by Magnetite/Carbon Nanocomposites: Single and Binary Systems

TL;DR: In this article, magnetic nanoparticles embedded within a matrix of activated carbon were tested as adsorbents for removal of industrial dyes from aqueous solutions, and the effects of four independent variables, solution pH, initial concentration of pollutant, adsorbent dose, contact time, and their interactions on the adsorption capacity of the nanocomposite were investigated in order to optimize the process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combustion synthesis of iron oxide/carbon nanocomposites, efficient adsorbents for anionic and cationic dyes removal from wastewaters

TL;DR: In this paper, the adsorption capacity of the magnetite/carbon nanocomposite was investigated for the removal of two anionic (Acid Orange 7 and Acid Blue 129) and two cationic (Methylene Blue and Rhodamine 6G) dyes from simulated wastewaters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effective removal of methylene blue from aqueous solution using a new magnetic iron oxide nanosorbent prepared by combustion synthesis

TL;DR: In this paper, a magnetic iron oxide nanopowder (MnP) prepared by a new combustion technique was characterized and tested as an adsorbent for methylene blue (MB) removal from aqueous solution.
