Journal ArticleDOI
Potential transfer of organic pollutants from littoral plastics debris to the marine environment.
Víctor M. León,I. García,Emilia González,Raquel Samper,V. Fernández-González,Soledad Muniategui-Lorenzo +5 more
TL;DR: This is the first study to show the relevance of the transport of organic contaminants on plastic debris from littoral areas to the marine environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interspecific comparison of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and persistent organochlorines bioaccumulation in bivalves from a Mediterranean coastal lagoon.
Víctor M. León,R. Moreno-González,Emilia González,Fulgencio Martínez,Víctor H. García,Juan Antonio Campillo +5 more
TL;DR: The increase of PAH bioaccumulation in autumn, as compared to spring, was low, due to high water temperatures during the summer, which favoured PAH dissipation processes, except for p,p'-DDE in bivalves sited close to El Albujón watercourse mouth.
Journal ArticleDOI
High aluminum content in bone of marine mammals and its relation with source levels and origin.
Asunción Borrell,Odei Garcia-Garin,Alex Aguilar,Morgana Vighi,Meica Valdivia,Emilia González,Diego Páez-Rosas,Massimiliano Drago +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the aluminum concentrations in bone from 10 species of marine mammals were analyzed in three geographic areas subject to different aluminum inputs: the Río de la Plata estuary (Uruguay), the coastal waters of Mauritania and the Galapagos archipelago (Ecuador).
Journal ArticleDOI
Seasonal composition and activity of the intertidal macrobenthic community of Caleta Valdés (Patagonia, Argentina) applying in situ and ex situ experimental protocols
Agustina Ferrando,Julieta Sturla Lompre,Emilia González,Marcos Franco,M.G. Commendatore,Marina L. Nievas,Cécile Militon,Georges Stora,Jose Luis Esteves,Philippe Cuny,Franck Gilbert +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the seasonal variation of the structure and activity (i.e., sediment reworking) of the intertidal macrobenthic communities of Caleta Valdés was evaluated for the first time.
