Journal ArticleDOI

A systematic review and meta-analysis of interventions to prevent hepatitis C virus infection in people who inject drugs.

TL;DR: The meta-analysis shows that HCV infection can be prevented in PWID, using strategies that combined substance-use treatment and support for safe injection were most effective at reducing HCV seroconversion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Meta-Regression of Hepatitis C Virus Infection in Relation to Time Since Onset of Illicit Drug Injection: The Influence of Time and Place

TL;DR: The authors concluded that time to HCV infection in developed countries has lengthened and resembles an earlier era of the HCV epidemic in other regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reflections of depression in acoustic measures of the patient’s speech

TL;DR: Clinical impressions are substantially related to acoustic parameters and temporal changes associated with depression appear to reflect the depressed state whereas prosodic features seem to reflect a depressed trait.
Journal ArticleDOI

Meta-Analysis of Hepatitis C Seroconversion in Relation to Shared Syringes and Drug Preparation Equipment

TL;DR: Meta-regression results showed that the association between syringe sharing and seroconversion was modified by HCV seroprevalence in the IDU populations, and it is important for injection drug users to consistently avoid sharing unsterile equipment used to prepare, divide or inject drugs and avoid backloading with an unsteriles syringe.
