Costotomy and "hand inside": a useful adjunct to video-assisted thoracic surgery or just a silly idea?

TL;DR: The first experiences with an access in video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) which to the best of the knowledge has not yet been reported are reported.
Book ChapterDOI

Approximable Minimization Problems and Optimal Solutions on Random Inputs

TL;DR: This paper develops a probabilistic approach due to Behrendt, Compton and Gradel showing that expected optimal solutions for any problem in the class Max ⌆1 grows essentially like a polynomial, and shows that there is a similar result for MinF+ II1, a syntactic class of minimization problems which provides a logical criterion for approximability.

Tailoring Recursing for Complexity

TL;DR: A functional analogue of first-order logic is presented and a new functional characterization of polynomial time is given and it is presented that a function that computes a (local) function in each ordered structure of a specified vocabulary is computed.
BookDOI

Computer Science Logic

TL;DR: Decidable Relationships between Consistency Notions for Constraint Satisfaction Problems and Cardinality Quantifiers in MLO over Trees are discussed.
