Modeling Transient Circulating Mud Temperature in the Event of Lost Circulation and its Application in Locating Loss Zones
Yuanhang Chen,Mengjiao Yu,Stefan Z. Miska,Evren Ozbayoglu,Yongfeng Kang,Shaohua Zhou,Nasser M. Al-Khanferi +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a numerical model is developed to estimate the transient mud circulating temperature profile during a lost circulation event, which is used to predict the location of the loss zone from the transient circulation temperature profile altered by the mud loss.

Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental investigation of fracture-based wellbore strengthening using a large-scale true triaxial cell
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe an experimental investigation of fracture-based wellbore strengthening on cubic Berea sandstone samples (size of 12 in3) using a large-scale true triaxial cell.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Relation Between the Mechanical Specific Energy, Cuttings Morphology, and PDC Cutter Geometry
TL;DR: In this article, a series of experiments performed on Carthage Marble Limestone rock samples in a high pressure single PDC cutter testing facility were discussed. And the results showed that the minimum particle size of the cuttings has a relatively strong dependency on the MSE of each test.
