Short-range part of the nuclear force and the deuteron in a quark model

K+N scattering in the constituent quark model

On the basis of the phenomenological relativistic harmonic model for quarks, we have obtained the ground-state masses of the light pseudo-scalar and vector mesons. The full Hamiltonian used in the investigation has Lorentz scalar + vector confinement potential, along with one-gluon-exchange potential (OGEP) and the instanton-induced quark-antiquark interaction. A good agreement is obtained with the experimental masses. The respective role of instanton-induced interaction and OGEP for the determination of the meson masses is discussed.

Consequences of the Pauli principle applied to a quark model analysis of light hypernuclei

It is shown that a small (5–8)% admixture of the six-quark component in the deuteron wave function which is to be introduced to describe elastic eD-scattering at large transfer momenta changes essentially the behaviour of the polarization tensorT20 and the ratioR of the vectorPx to tensor polarizationPxz compared to the models which do not take such admixtures into account. The corresponding experiments are emphasized to be important, which are aimed at testing the predictions of models including six-quark admixtures in the deuteron.

Polarization in elastic eD-scattering at large transfer momenta and quark structure of the deuteron

A model of the two-nucleon interaction derived from the potential model of the quark structure of baryons is proposed. This model leads to a nonlocal Schr\"odinger equation for the deuteron which has been solved numerically. The model parameters are consistent with those fitted to baryon spectroscopy and the predicted deuteron properties are in even better agreement with experiment than the authors had dared hope.
