Journal ArticleDOI
Emotional modulation of pain: is it the sensation or what we recall?
TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that intensity reports significantly increased when painful stimuli were concomitant to images showing human pain, whereas pictures with identical emotional values but without somatic content failed to modulate pain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evoked potentials to nociceptive stimuli delivered by CO2 or Nd:YAP lasers.
Caroline Perchet,Fabio Godinho,Stéphanie Mazza,Maud Frot,Valéry Legrain,Michel Magnin,Luis Garcia-Larrea +6 more
TL;DR: Earlier latencies and larger amplitudes recorded when using Nd:YAP pulses suggest a more synchronized nociceptive afferent volley with this type of laser, which may favour the use of Nd?:YAP lasers in clinical settings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lexical-retrieval and semantic memory in Parkinson’s disease: The question of noun and verb dissociation
Henrique Salmazo-Silva,Maria Alice de Mattos Pimenta Parente,Maria Sheila Guimarães Rocha,Roberta Roque Baradel,André M. Cravo,João Ricardo Sato,Fabio Godinho,Maria Teresa Carthery-Goulart,Maria Teresa Carthery-Goulart +8 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that semantic deficits are related to the type of cognitive processing and this is in the line with more flexible EC accounts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pain influences hedonic assessment of visual inputs.
TL;DR: In this paper, the brain responses to visual inputs (64-channels electroencephalogram) mirrored behavioural results, showing pain-induced effects in the orbitofrontal cortex, the subgenual portion of the cingulate gyrus, the anterior prefrontal and the temporal cortices, exclusively during presentation of pleasant images.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectral Characteristics of subthalamic Nucleus local Field Potentials in parkinson's disease: Phenotype and Movement matter
Fabio Godinho,Fabio Godinho,Arnaldo Fim Neto,Arnaldo Fim Neto,Bruno Leonardo Bianqueti,Julia Baldi de Luccas,Eduardo Varjão,Paulo Roberto Terzian Filho,Eberval Gadelha Figueiredo,Tiago P. Almeida,Tiago P. Almeida,Takashi Yoneyama,Andre Kazuo Takahata,Maria Sheila Guimarães Rocha,Diogo C. Soriano +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the subthalamic nucleus local field potentials (STN-LFP) in tremor dominant (TD), postural instability and gait disorder (PIGD) patients were analyzed for classification of Parkinson's disease.
