Effect of sodium silicate as liquid based stabilizer on shear strength of marine clay

TL;DR: In this paper, a laboratory study was led to assess the impacts of sodium silicate on the unconfined compression strength (UCS) and plasticity index of marine clay.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance of lime-treated marine clay on strength and compressibility chracteristics

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of laboratory test has been conducted to determine the potential of lime to stabilize marine clay to form the basis of a strong, reliable land for construction of roads and building.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stabilization of marine clay by biomass silica (non-traditional) stabilizers

TL;DR: In this article, a series of laboratory test has been conducted to determine the potential of Biomass Silica (BS), one of the commercial brands namely “SH-85” to stabilize marine clay to form the basis of a strong, reliable land for construction of roads and building.
Journal ArticleDOI

Liquefaction resistance of sand matrix soils

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the liquefaction resistance of sand matrix soils with respect to different fines content based on the results from cyclic tests using triaxial testing system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Predicting the effective depth of soil stabilization for marine clay treated by biomass silica

TL;DR: In this article, the stress-strain behavior of marine clay treated with 12% of SH-85 with different curing periods and confining pressures was investigated and the results showed that the strength parameters of the stabilized soil are greatly improved during the early stage of the curing period under higher confining pressure.
