Journal ArticleDOI

RET-independent signaling by GDNF ligands and GFRα receptors.

TL;DR: This review summarizes the current understanding of how the best studied RET-independent signaling pathway for GDNF family ligands and GFRα receptors involves the neural cell adhesion molecule NCAM and its association with GFR α co-receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Different efficacy of in vivo herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase gene transduction and ganciclovir treatment on the inhibition of tumor growth of murine and human melanoma cells and rat glioblastoma cells.

TL;DR: The immune infiltrate, which showed the presence of T lymphocytes, macrophages, and polymorphonuclear cells at the site of the first injection and mainly T lymphocyte and macrophage at the sites of tumor challenge, strengthened the importance of the immune system in achieving complete tumor rejection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deciphering New Players in the Neurogenic Adult Hippocampal Niche.

TL;DR: Recent advances related with cellular components and extrinsic signals of the hippocampal neurogenic niche that support and modulate neurogenesis under physiological conditions are discussed.
