Journal ArticleDOI
Reproductive factors, family history, occupation and risk of urogenital prolapse.
Francesca Chiaffarino,Liliane Chatenoud,M Dindelli,Michele Meschia,A. Buonaguidi,Fabio Amicarelli,Matteo Surace,E. Bertola,E. Di Cintio,Fabio Parazzini,Fabio Parazzini +10 more
TL;DR: The data support the clinical suggestion that parous women are at a higher risk of prolapse and the risk increases with number of vaginal deliveries.
Journal Article
Interleukin-1β and tumor necrosis factor-α induce gene expression and production of leukocyte chemotactic factors, colony-stimulating factors, and interleukin-6 in human mesangial cells
Carla Zoja,Ji Ming Wang,Stefania Bettoni,Marina Sironi,Daniela Renzi,Francesca Chiaffarino,Hanna E. Abboud,Jo Van Damme,Alberto Mantovani,Giuseppe Remuzzi,Alessandro Rambaldi +10 more
TL;DR: Data support an effector role for mesangial cells in modulating immune-inflammatory responses in glomeruli and release of cytokines may activate not only infiltrating inflammatory cells through short paracrine pathways, but also mesangials cells themselves through an autocrine pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
Selected food intake and risk of endometriosis
Fabio Parazzini,Francesca Chiaffarino,Matteo Surace,Liliane Chatenoud,Sonia Cipriani,Vito Chiantera,Guido Benzi,Luigi Fedele +7 more
TL;DR: A link between diet and risk of endometriosis is suggested and a significant reduction in risk emerged for higher intake of green vegetables and fresh fruit, whereas an increase in risk was associated with high intake of beef and other red meat and ham.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Urinary Incontinence and Overactive Bladder on Quality of Life
TL;DR: QOL was significantly impaired in women with UI or OB compared to controls, and physical and mental functioning tended to be more impaired in patients than in controls.
Journal ArticleDOI
Semen quality and alcohol intake: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Elena Ricci,Suha Al Beitawi,Sonia Cipriani,Massimo Candiani,Francesca Chiaffarino,Paola Viganò,Stefania Noli,Fabio Parazzini +7 more
TL;DR: Results showed that alcohol intake has a detrimental effect on semen volume and normal morphology, and studies evaluating the effect of changes on semen parameters on the reproductive outcomes are needed in advance of providing recommendations regarding alcohol intake other than the advice to avoid heavy alcohol drinking.
