Modelling and predicting the effect of social distancing and travel restrictions on COVID-19 spreading.

TL;DR: In this paper, a meta-population model based on temporal networks is introduced to evaluate the outcomes of nonpharmaceutical interventions (NPIs), which entail policies to reduce social activity and mobility restrictions, and the results suggest that the effects of mobility restrictions largely depend on the possibility of implementing timely NPIs in the early phases of the outbreak, whereas activity reduction policies should be prioritized afterwards.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of the Bitcoin blockchain: socio-economic factors behind the adoption

TL;DR: This study provides a new insight on Bitcoin adoption by country and on the potential socio-economic drivers of the international Bitcoin flow.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modelling and predicting the effect of social distancing and travel restrictions on COVID-19 spreading

TL;DR: A meta-population model based on temporal networks, calibrated on the COVID-19 outbreak data in Italy and applied to evaluate the effectiveness of NPIs, suggests that the effects of mobility restrictions largely depend on the possibility of implementing timely NPIs in the early phases of the outbreak, whereas activity reduction policies should be prioritized afterwards.
Journal ArticleDOI

A model predictive control approach to optimally devise a two-dose vaccination rollout: A case study on COVID-19 in Italy

TL;DR: A novel epidemic model tailored to COVID‐19, which includes the effect of nonpharmaceutical interventions and a concurrent two‐dose vaccination campaign is proposed and numerically assess the effectiveness of the obtained optimal vaccination rollouts for the two most used vaccines.
