TL;DR: This poster presents a poster presented at the 2016 International Congress of the American College of Vascular Surgery (ICS) entitled “Cardiology and Vascular Surgeons: Foundations of Cardiac Rhythm Management, 2nd Ed.”
Journal ArticleDOI
Protected Carotid Stenting. Clinical Advantages and Complications of Embolic Protection Devices in 442 Consecutive Patients
TL;DR: The data suggest that percutaneous stenting of the carotid artery when a cerebral protection device is used is feasible and effective but not without potential complications, however, a long learning curve may exist for the proper use of some embolic protection devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spinal cord ischemia after elective stent-graft repair of the thoracic aorta.
Roberto Chiesa,Germano Melissano,Massimiliano M. Marrocco-Trischitta,Efrem Civilini,Francesco Setacci +4 more
TL;DR: Perioperative hypotension (MAP <70 mm Hg) was found to be a significant predictor of spinal cord ischemia; hence, careful monitoring and prompt correction of arterial pressure may prevent the development of paraplegia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Results of Endografting of the Aortic Arch in Different Landing Zones
Germano Melissano,Efrem Civilini,Luca Bertoglio,Fabio Calliari,Francesco Setacci,Giliola Calori,Roberto Chiesa +6 more
TL;DR: Total debranching of the arch for "zone 0" aneurysms allowed to obtain a longer proximal aortic landing zone with lower incidence of endoleak, however a higher risk of cerebrovascular accident was observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hybrid approach to thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms in patients with prior aortic surgery
Roberto Chiesa,Yamume Tshomba,Germano Melissano,Enrico Maria Marone,Luca Bertoglio,Francesco Setacci,Fabio Calliari +6 more
TL;DR: This study analyzed prospectively recorded data of a series of high-risk patients with prior aortic surgery who underwent hybrid TAAA repair at the institute and contrasted the outcomes with those of a similar group of patients who underwent conventional open T AAA repair.
