A theory for microtremor H/V spectral ratio: application for a layered medium

TL;DR: In this article, the average energy density of the motions at a given receiver, in the frequency domain, measures average energy densities and is proportional to the imaginary part of the Green's function when both source and receiver are the same.
Journal ArticleDOI

Seismic response of three-dimensional alluvial valleys for incident P, S, and Rayleigh waves

TL;DR: In this article, a simplified indirect boundary element method (BEM) is presented to compute the seismic response of three-dimensional alluvial valleys under incident P, S, and Rayleigh waves.
Journal ArticleDOI

A computer code for forward calculation and inversion of the H/V spectral ratio under the diffuse field assumption

TL;DR: This work presents a computer code for forward calculation of H/V spectra based on the diffuse field assumption (DFA), which takes advantage of the recently stated connection between the HVSRN and the elastodynamic Green's function which arises from the ambient noise interferometry theory.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diffuse fields in dynamic elasticity

TL;DR: In this paper, a representation theorem of the correlation type for an inhomogeneous region embedded in a homogeneous space is considered and it is concluded that, in the resulting field, the energy is equipartitioned.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elastodynamic 2D Green function retrieval from cross-correlation: Canonical inclusion problem

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors study the problem of retrieval of 2D elastodynamic Green tensors in an infinite space containing a cylinder inclusion, and show that the Fourier transform of azimuthal average of cross-correlation of motion between two points is proportional to the imaginary part of the corresponding exact Green tensor.
