Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of diabetes on the management and outcomes in atrial fibrillation: an analysis from the ESC-EHRA EORP-AF Long-Term General Registry.
Wern Yew Ding,Agnieszka Kotalczyk,Giuseppe Boriani,Francisco Marín,Carina Blomström-Lundqvist,Tatjana S. Potpara,Laurent Fauchier,Gregory Y.H. Lip +7 more
TL;DR: The EORP-AF General Long-Term Registry as mentioned in this paper was used to assess the impact of diabetes on the management and outcomes of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).
Journal ArticleDOI
Oral anticoagulation for heart failure in sinus rhythm: from evidence to clinical recommendations, or not?
Francisco Marín,Gregory Y.H. Lip +1 more
TL;DR: An updated meta-analysis on antithrombotic therapy use in patients with HF and sinus rhythm shows that OAC compared with aspirin did not reduce mortality, but could reduce the risk of stroke, at the cost of a significant increase in major bleeding.
Journal ArticleDOI
Infrautilización del tratamiento anticoagulante en pacientes con fibrilación auricular
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment strategies for patients with atrial fibrillation and anticoagulant-associated intracranial hemorrhage: an overview of the pharmacotherapy.
José Miguel Rivera-Caravaca,María Asunción Esteve-Pastor,Anny Camelo-Castillo,Inmaculada Ramírez-Macías,Gregory Y.H. Lip,Vanessa Roldán,Francisco Marín +6 more
TL;DR: Although the timing of OAC resumption is still under debate, reintroduction after 4–8 weeks of the bleeding event may be possible, after a multidisciplinary approach to decision-making.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of anthropometric factors on outcomes in atrial fibrillation patients: analysis on 10 220 patients from the ESC-EHRA EORP AF general long-term registry.
Giuseppe Boriani,Marco Vitolo,Vincenzo Livio Malavasi,M. Proietti,Elisa Fantecchi,Igor Diemberger,Laurent Fauchier,Francisco Marín,Michael Nabauer,Tatjana S. Potpara,Gheorghe Andrei Dan,Zbigniew Kalarus,Luigi Tavazzi,Aldo P. Maggioni,Deirdre A. Lane,Gregory Y.H. Lip +15 more
TL;DR: In AF patients height, weight, BMI, BSA and LBM were associated with clinical outcomes, with all-cause death being higher for patients presenting lower values of these variables, i.e in the lowest tertiles of distribution.
