A New Low-Reynolds-Number k-ε Model for Turbulent Flow Over Smooth and Rough Surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, a low-Reynolds number k-e model is proposed to simulate turbulent flow over smooth and rough surfaces by including the equivalent sand-grain roughness height into the model functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Further experiments on transition to turbulence in constant-acceleration pipe flow

TL;DR: In this article, a second series of experiments was conducted to extend and validate recently reported data by the present authors on transition to turbulence in pipe flows started from rest under constant acceleration, and the test section diameter was increased from the 5 cm of the previous experiment to 9 cm for the present study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies of the simulation of drifting oil by polyethylene sheets

TL;DR: In this article, a series of drift experiments with circular polyethylene sheets in Narragansett Bay showed that both tidal currents and surface with friction were of equal importance in producing the motion of a thin surface layer.
