Journal ArticleDOI
Estimated Radiation Dose Associated With Cardiac CT Angiography
Jörg Hausleiter,Tanja Meyer,Franziska Hermann,Martin Hadamitzky,Markus Krebs,Thomas C. Gerber,Cynthia H. McCollough,Stefan Martinoff,Adnan Kastrati,Albert Schömig,Stephan Achenbach +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, a cross-sectional, international, multicenter, observational study was conducted to estimate the radiation dose of CCTA in routine clinical practice as well as the association of currently available strategies with dose reduction.

Estimated Radiation Dose Associated With Cardiac CT Angiography. Commentary
Jörg Hausleiter,Tanja Meyer,Franziska Hermann,Martin Hadamitzky,Markus Krebs,Thomas C. Gerber,Cynthia H. McCollough,Stefan Martinoff,Adnan Kastrati,Albert Schömig,Stephan Achenbach,Andrew J. Einstein +11 more
TL;DR: The comparable diagnostic image quality of CCTA may support an increased use of dose-saving strategies in adequately selected patients and effective strategies to reduce radiation dose are available but some strategies are not frequently used.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reduction of radiation dose estimates in cardiac 64-slice CT angiography in patients after coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
Franziska Hermann,Stefan Martinoff,Tanja Meyer,Martin Hadamitzky,Chaohui Jiang,Eva Hendrich,Jörg Hausleiter +6 more
TL;DR: The radiation burden associated with 64-slice bypass graft CT angiographies is substantial and anatomically adapted tube current modulation does not reduce radiation dose parameters, whereas ECG-controlledtube current modulation was associated with a 45% reduction in dose estimates.

Abstract 2597: A New Algorithm For ECG-based Tube Current Modulation (``MinDose") Reduces Radiation Dose Estimates In Cardiac Dual Source CT Angiography
Joerg Hausleiter,Franziska Hermann,Tanja Meyer,Martin Hadamitzky,Albrecht Will,Christina Ardelean,Michaela Haschka,Stefan Martinoff +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the dual source CT (DSCT) technology with two X-ray tubes and corresponding detector arrays provides a further improved temporal resolution, which has been shown to improve temporal resolution.
