Estimated Radiation Dose Associated With Cardiac CT Angiography

TL;DR: In this article, a cross-sectional, international, multicenter, observational study was conducted to estimate the radiation dose of CCTA in routine clinical practice as well as the association of currently available strategies with dose reduction.
Journal Article

Estimated Radiation Dose Associated With Cardiac CT Angiography. Commentary

TL;DR: The comparable diagnostic image quality of CCTA may support an increased use of dose-saving strategies in adequately selected patients and effective strategies to reduce radiation dose are available but some strategies are not frequently used.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reduction of radiation dose estimates in cardiac 64-slice CT angiography in patients after coronary artery bypass graft surgery.

TL;DR: The radiation burden associated with 64-slice bypass graft CT angiographies is substantial and anatomically adapted tube current modulation does not reduce radiation dose parameters, whereas ECG-controlledtube current modulation was associated with a 45% reduction in dose estimates.
Journal Article

Abstract 2597: A New Algorithm For ECG-based Tube Current Modulation (``MinDose") Reduces Radiation Dose Estimates In Cardiac Dual Source CT Angiography

TL;DR: In this paper, the dual source CT (DSCT) technology with two X-ray tubes and corresponding detector arrays provides a further improved temporal resolution, which has been shown to improve temporal resolution.
