The use of supported solutions of rhodium trichloride for homogeneous catalysis
Journal ArticleDOI
Homogeneous catalysis by noble metal salts: II. Isomerization of 1-pentene by a platinum(ll)-tin(ll) complex
G.C. Bond,Margaret Hellier +1 more
TL;DR: In the presence of hydrogen and a Pt II -Sn II complex, 1-pentene isomerizes at room temperature to a mixture of 2-pentenes in which the trans isomer predominates (~85%); the yield of this isomer increases with decreasing temperature as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Homogeneous catalysis by noble metal salts: I. The homogeneous isomerization of olefins by palladium compounds
G.C. Bond,Margaret Hellier +1 more
TL;DR: Isomerization of n-pentenes in benzene solution is catalyzed by palladous chloride and its nitrile complexes, and proceeds smoothly at 70 °C and atmospheric pressure; ethyl acetate and methyl ethyl ketone are also suitable as solvents as discussed by the authors.
