TL;DR: The decarboxylation of acyloxy radicals and the rearrangement of these radicals with 1,5- or 1,6-hydrogen migration are thermodynamically equivalent.
Abstract: 1.
The decarboxylation of acyloxy radicals and the rearrangement of these radicals with 1,5- or 1,6-hydrogen migration are thermodynamically equivalent.
2.
Analysis of the structure of the molecular orbitals of acyloxy radicals shows that the coordination of these radicals with variable-valence metals capable of transferring electron density suppresses the decarboxylation reaction.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that esters of substituted cyclopropane-1,1,2, 2,2-tetracarboxylic acids cyclize to give high yields of esters upon electrochemical oxidation in methanol in the presence of sodium iodide as an electron transfer catalyst.
Abstract: Esters of substituted propane-1,1,3,3-tetracarboxylic acids cyclize to give high yields of esters of substituted cyclopropane-1,1,2,2-tetracarboxylic acids upon electrochemical oxidation in methanol in the presence of sodium iodide as an electron transfer catalyst.
