Microstructural aspects of the friction-stir welding of 6061-T6 aluminum
Journal ArticleDOI
A TEM study of precipitation and related microstructures in friction-stir-welded 6061 aluminium
TL;DR: In this article, a hard steel head pin rotating at 400 r.p.m. was advanced into a solid 6061-aluminium plate at a traverse velocity of approximately 2 mm s−1 to produce a solid-phase weld in its trailing side.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic recrystallization in friction-stir welding of aluminium alloy 1100
Journal ArticleDOI
Friction-stir welding: microstructural characterization
TL;DR: The microstructures of friction-stir welded aluminum alloys (1100 and 6061) are dominated by dynamic recrystallization as mentioned in this paper, which is the same as the microstructure of the metal itself.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Circumferential pure shear test of thin-walled aluminum alloy tubes
Shuang Zhang,X. S. Wang,G. Liu +2 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a test for thin-walled tubes is proposed, which consists of a tubular sample and two cylindrical mandrels with shear plates, and it is shown through simulation and experiment that shear deformation is concentrated in the pre-set shearing zone.
