Journal ArticleDOI

A comparison of some condition monitoring techniques for the detection of defect in induction motor ball bearings

TL;DR: In this paper, a defect in the outer race of an induction motor ball bearing was detected by using vibration, stator current, acoustic emission and shock pulse (SPM) measurements at different loads.
Journal ArticleDOI

Condition monitoring of electric motor ball bearings for the detection of grease contaminants

TL;DR: In this paper, the effectiveness of vibration, stator current, acoustic emission and shock pulse measurements in detecting the presence of contaminant particles in bearing grease has been investigated, and the results showed that the levels of vibration and stator currents increased as contaminant level and contaminant size increased.
