Hydrometallurgical process for recovery of cobalt from waste cathodic active material generated during manufacturing of lithium ion batteries

TL;DR: In this article, a new leaching-solvent extraction hydrometallurgical process for the recovery of a pure and marketable form of cobalt sulfate solution from waste cathodic active material generated during manufacturing of lithium ion batteries (LIBs).
Journal ArticleDOI

Separation of cobalt and lithium from mixed sulphate solution using Na-Cyanex 272

TL;DR: In this article, the solvent extraction behavior of cobalt and lithium from mixed sulphate solution using Na-Cyanex 272 as an extractant was analyzed and the effect of different parameters such as pH of feed solution, extractant concentration, cobalt ion concentrations in the feed solution and stripping behavior using different mineral acids such as H 2 SO 4, HCl, HNO 3 have been studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of process flow sheet for recovery of high pure cobalt from sulfate leach liquor of LIB industry waste: A mathematical model correlation to predict optimum operational conditions

TL;DR: In this article, a new hydrometallurgical process flow sheet for the recovery of high pure cobalt sulfate solution/salt from waste LiCoO2 cathodic active material generated from lithium ion battery (LIB) industry waste.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extraction of Co(II) by supported liquid membrane and solvent extraction using Cyanex 272 as an extractant: A comparison study

TL;DR: In this article, the microporous hydrophobic PVDF film has been used as the solid support for the liquid membrane, and the Cyanex 272 was used as extractant and mobile carrier in solvent extraction and supported liquid membrane (SLM) respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Separation of Co(II) and Li(I) by supported liquid membrane using Cyanex 272 as mobile carrier

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the microporous hydrophobic PVDF film as the solid support for the liquid membrane and Cyanex 272 was used as mobile carrier to extract Co(II) and Li(I) from a dilute aqueous sulfate media using supported liquid membrane (SLM) technique.
