These Pt nanoassemblies exhibit remarkably high stability following thousands of voltage cycles and good catalytic activity, when compared with a commercial Pt catalyst and 20 % wt Pt catalyst supported on carbon black (20 % Pt/CB).

Self-Supported Interconnected Pt Nanoassemblies as Highly Stable Electrocatalysts for Low-Temperatur

In this study, poly(4-vinylpyridine) (P4VP) was first grafted onto the surface of halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) via in situ polymerization, and then, silver ions were immobilized on P4VP via complex reaction. Finally, silver ions were reduced to silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs). Polyethersulfone (PES) ultrafiltration membranes bending with modified HNTs loaded with Ag NPs were prepared via phase inversion. FT-IR spectra and TGA results showed that HNTs were modified successfully. The contact angle data indicated that the hydrophilicity of the membranes was enhanced by the addition of modified HNTs. The permeation properties of the hybrid membranes were significantly superior to the pure PES membrane, especially when the modified HNTs content was 3%; the pure water flux of the membrane reached the maximum at 396.5 L·m–2·h–1, which was about 251.5% higher than that of the pure PES membrane, and the rejection was slightly affected by the addition of the modified HNTs. Spent potlining (SPL) from Hall-Heroult cells is a kind of toxic solid waste with recyclable carbon and electrolyte. The recycle of SPL by floatation, which can meet environment requirements and bring economic profits, is focused on presently because of its great potential to be industrialized and spread. However, it is difficult to get a good floatation index in floatation of SPL with carbon content lower than 50%. Therefore, the dressing of SPL with 36.1% of carbon has been investigated in the paper with the interesting potential to improve the quality of floatation products by optimizing floatation conditions, such as grinding size, pulp density and agitation speed of floatation machine. And the comparative experiment has been performed. The results show that quality of both carbon product and electrolyte product were improved under optimized conditions of grinding size of 90% of the particle sizes less than 0.74mm, pulp density of 25% and agitation speed of 1700r/min. The carbon content in carbon product was raised by 5.40 and carbon content in electrolyte product decreased by 0.26 while electrolyte recovery of electrolyte product increased by 4.58.

Synthesis,characterization,and antimicrobial properties of Cu-inorganic antibacterial material containing lanthanum

Mesoporous molecular sieves (MCM-41) was successfully synthesized using hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by X-ray diffraction and nitrogen adsorption–desorption. Characterization results show that synthesized MCM-41 is a good adsorption material of good crystallinity, large surface area (1,040m2/g) and uniform diameter (centered at 2.8 nm). Removal of Cr (VI) from aqueous solution using MCM-41 was carried out by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The different parameters affecting the adsorption efficiency were investigated and obtained their optimal values (pH 4, temperature 35°C, initial Cr (VI) concentration < 10 mg/L, adsorption time 2 h, adsorbent concentration of 10mg/L). It is very useful and important to deal with Cr (VI) from aqueous solution. The adsorption isotherm was also investigated. It is found that the adsorption isotherm follows the Langmuir model better.
