Journal ArticleDOI

Microemulsion-based media as novel drug delivery systems

TL;DR: The use of microemulsions and closely related microemulsion-based systems as drug delivery vehicles is reviewed, with particular emphasis being placed on recent developments and future directions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gelatin-stabilised microemulsion-based organogels: rheology and application in iontophoretic transdermal drug delivery.

TL;DR: MBGs provide a convenient means of immobilising the drug and are rheologically similar to their hydrogel counterparts at comparable gelatin concentrations, and appear to offer improved microbial resistance in comparison to aqueous solution or hydrogels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microemulsion-based organogels: A novel matrix for transdermal drug delivery

TL;DR: The proposed MBG structure based on neutron scattc is an effective immobilisation matrix for proteins such as lipase that is thermodynamically stable, and is structurally stable in contact with apolar solvents, including the parent hydrocarbon.
