miR-203 represses 'stemness' by repressing DeltaNp63.

TL;DR: The results suggest that miR-203, by regulating the ΔNp63 expression level, is a key molecule controlling the p63-dependent proliferative potential of epithelial precursor cells both during keratinocyte differentiation and in epithelial development.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human delta Np73 regulates a dominant negative feedback loop for TAp73 and p53.

TL;DR: Interestingly, expression of the ΔNp73 is strongly up-regulated by the TA isoforms and by p53, thus creating a feedback loop that tightly regulates the function of TAp73 and more importantly of p53.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ordering of caspases in cells undergoing apoptosis by the intrinsic pathway.

TL;DR: It is shown that in intact cells caspase-7 can also directly process and activate casp enzyme-2 and -6, and this possibility in cells induced to undergo apoptosis by activation of the intrinsic pathway is examined.
Journal Article

The expression of "tissue" transglutaminase in two human cancer cell lines is related with the programmed cell death (apoptosis).

TL;DR: Data indicate that also in tumors tTG activation takes place in cells undergoing apoptosis, and the number of insoluble protein envelopes as well as the N,N-bis(gamma-glutamyl)polyamine cross-links is related with both tTG expression and apoptotic index, strongly suggesting the participation of the enzyme in the apoptotic program.
