An Analytical Framework for Device-to-Device Communication in Cellular Networks

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a framework that enables characterizing analytically the spectral efficiency achievable by D2D communication integrated with a cellular network, based on a stochastic geometry formulation with a novel approach to the modeling of interference and with the added possibility of incorporating exclusion regions to protect cellular receivers from excessive interference from active D2DM transmitters.

An Analytical Framework for Device-to-Device Communication in Cellular Networks

TL;DR: A framework that enables characterizing analytically the spectral efficiency achievable by device-to-device (D2D) communication integrated with a cellular network based on a stochastic geometry formulation with the added possibility of incorporating exclusion regions to protect cellular receivers from excessive interference from active D2D transmitters is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ergodic Spectral Efficiency in MIMO Cellular Networks

TL;DR: In this paper, the ergodic spectral efficiency of cellular networks with single-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and sectorization is analyzed. And the authors show how the application of stochastic geometry to the analysis of wireless networks is greatly facilitated by a clear separation of time scales, the abstraction of small-scale effects via ergodicity, and an interference model that reflects the receiver's lack of knowledge of how each individual interference term is faded.

Ergodic Spectral Efficiency in MIMO Cellular Networks

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present analytical characterizations of the ergodic spectral efficiency of cellular networks with single-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and sectorization.

Pilot aided data transmission and reception with interference mitigation in wireless systems

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-antenna precoder was proposed to reduce interference at pilot symbols and also enable good interference measurements by using a combination of pilot tones and null tones along with null tones.
