Journal ArticleDOI

Purine and purine alkaloid metabolism in Camellia and Coffea plants

TL;DR: The metabolism of purine nucleotides and purine alkaloids are reviewed in tea and coffee plants and the activity of the three N -methyltransferases is considered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on the composition of the essential oils of three Nepeta species

TL;DR: The composition of the essential oils produced by Nepeta cataria, N. citriodora and N. mussini was determined using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with open tubular columns to identify the major constituent of their essential oils.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biosynthesis of the pyridine ring of ricinine.

TL;DR: The structure of ricinine suggests that a method could be developed which would permit isolation of each of the carbon atoms of the pyridine ring, and suggested that a study of ricInine formation from small, isotopically labeled molecules would give information applicable to nicotinic acid as well.
